H2H Series Awards Banquet

On January 19 Team Campmor and about 100 other mountain bike racers came out to celebrate and support the 2013 H2H series winners. Thanks to Stef Mckeon for volunteering to find and book the venue for the awards dinner. Once again Team Campmor women kicked some butt out there taking three first place finishes including Dar Phillips (above) winning the Pro/open women's title, riding her single speed!

First on the nights agenda was the A.C. Daughtry Security Team Challenge run by Dave and Heather Kahl. Teams accumulate points for top 5 top finishes per race and accumulative Paydirt (trail work) hours for all team members. The point system is designed to encourage all levels of racers to participate for equal points and work together as a team racing and maintaining trails to secure the future of mountain bike racing in our region. Four teams were recognized:Team Town Cycle, Clockwork Construction,Team Bulldog and the series winner Team Campmor. Team Campmor did over 350 hours of local trail work that gave them this recognition. Each team received a donation from A.C.Daughtry to Jersey Off Road Bicycle Assoc in their name. The 2013 mountain bike race season is in the books, and Team Campmor has completed yet another year of great racing. The 16 member team competed in the Campmor H2H Series taking 8 top 5 positions. Congratulations to Dar Phillips for winning Pro/open women, Ellen White for winning Cat 1 40+, and Stef McKeon for winning Cat 3. Also congratulations to Willy for taking 2nd in the very competitive Cat 1 50+.

Outside of the local series, Team Campmor sent 6 racers to Mountain Bike National Championships in McCungie Pa. The team claimed four podium spots and one National Championship Title. Nationals will return to Pa again next year and Team Campmor will once again be racing for titles.

Team Campmor is more than just a team that races. They are involved in the future of the sport as well. They do several types of community service. Each team member is required to perform a minimum of 5 hours of trail maintenance each year and is encouraged to participate in organizing clinics and events. In 2013 the team completed 348 hours of trail work on local public lands. They also hosted several clinics both in the store and in the field. Jeremy Swift even convinced his landlord to allow him to build 5 miles of trails and promote a race in his back yard.

The team has received much support throughout the year from it’s outstanding sponsors. National Championships

Team Campmor had an awesome weekend of racing at Mountain Bike National Championships at Bear Creek resort in MacCungie Pa. Extreme hot conditions and technical courses made up most of the weekend racing. The team claimed 4 podium spots and one National Champion title. Even with extreme heat, good vibes filled the venue all weekend long. The team would like to thank Campmor for their outstanding support.
